Throughout the year, school groups of +/- 15 children can come and see various craft activities by reservation. Each demonstration lasts half an hour and shows old techniques that have been rediscovered, sometimes after lengthy research. In this context, the participant is a spectator rediscovering the (sometimes forgotten) skills of our ancestors. Valid for groups of about 15 participants. (From pupils of first elementary school to adults).
Fire Lit
Evolution of man, discovery and mastery of fire. Demonstration of the various methods of lighting fire from the Paleolithic onwards.
Flint
Presentation of the main technical developments from the Paleolithic period to the Neolithic period.
Blacksmith
From iron ore mining to the finished product. Processing and use of iron ore from the Celtic period onwards. Explanation of the blast furnace and display of forging tools and weapons using a low furnace.
Neolithic bread
Explanation of the origin and use of cereals and the origin of bread. Display of grinding grain using millstones. Making bread dough and baking the loaf in a plaster clay oven.
Pottery with lathe
History of ceramics. Explanation and display of lathe work: making a pot. Explanation of the different firing methods.
Weaving
Exhibition of various dyeing plants; display of dyeing techniques, carding and spinning of wool with a loom. Demonstration of work on plant fibers from the Neolithic era and work on wool from the Bronze age : demonstration of weaving by hand and by loom.
